Dr. Mann is a native New Yorker who's lived all over the globe exploring his passions. He has worked on a large number of animals big and small. These escapades include birthing 100 sheep a day in the ranges of Idaho, doing lameness exams on horses in Ireland, spaying and neutering dogs on native american reservations in Utah, examing cows in Cuba, cleaning out ear mites in Honduras, providing environmental enrichment to sloths at the zoo and keeping your best friends healthy in Brooklyn.

Dr. Mann's wide range of activities and commonalities in medicine sparked an interest in holistic treatments. This spark continued with the certification in veterinary acupuncture awarded by the Chi Institute as well as an understanding of various herbal and glandular therapies which can be used in addition to conventional western medicine to make sure you and your best friend will be happy and healthy for a long time. Dr. Mann received his undergraduate degree in environmental and political science at Hampshire College, and continued his education at University of Pennsylvania, College of Veterinary Medicine where he was awarded his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Mann is also accredited by the USDA to provide international health certificates.

When not at work Dr. Mann loves spending time with his cats, Barthalomew Diaz and Felix, as well as his dog, Micky. He also loves SCUBA diving, reading, internal medicine, horse back riding and continuing education in addition to all offers of home cooked treats.

Dr. Daniel Leiman, along with Dr. Barbara Eisner, is the founder and owner of the Northside Veterinary Clinic. Although he grew up in Elmont NY with dogs and cats as beloved family pets, Dr Leiman did not develop a passion to be a veterinarian until his undergraduate years at Duke University. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Duke , Dr. Leiman was admitted to the Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine. He graduated Cornell Vet School with honors in 1981.

After working in Amish country in Bloomsburg, PA for 2 years at a mixed animal practice, Dr. Leiman returned to NYC, where he did a 2 year internship at the Henry Bergh Memorial Hospital. After working at the Queens Veterinary Emergency Clinic and other small animal practices for a few years, Dr. Leiman began his own housecall practice. The housecall practice grew so quickly that Dr Leiman needed to set up a place where people could come to see him as well. With his wife, Dr. Barbara Eisner, the Northside Veterinary Clinic was founded in 1997 at 233 Berry Street. Although Dr. Leiman still makes housecalls, the majority of his time is spent practicing medicine, surgery and dentistry at Northside.
Outside of work, Dr. Leiman enjoys playing racquetball, playing bagpipes, rooting for the Yankees and keeping his pitbull on a short leash.
