Pet Owner FAQ
Yes, we are taking new clients. Please call to make an appointment and then fill out our online Registration form, found under the "Online Forms" Section of the menu bar.
How much is an office visit?
An office visit that is planned in advance (not same day) and is not for international travel is $80. All of our vaccines are between $40-60 per vaccine.
Follow up visit costs depend on what needs to be done. Bloodwork/X-ray/other diagnostics depend on a multitude of factors and we cannot know without examining the pet.
How do I request a medication refill?
Please see our page on medication refills. Please keep in mind it takes at least 48 hours to process medication requests.
What vaccines does my dog/cat need and how much do they cost?
For dogs, we typically recommend having the Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and bordetella vaccines. For cats, we usually recommend having the Rabies and the FVRCP vaccines. There are exceptions to this, and that can be discussed with the veterinarian. They are $40-60 per vaccine. We also do recommend doing annual testing, such as heartworm tests, fecal testing (for intestinal parasites) and bloodwork for older patients. Pricing for those does depend on what exactly is being done.
I have a new puppy/kitten. When do I bring them in?
Breeders and adoption agencies/shelters do vaccines at all different times, so we typically recommend bringing them in within a week of adoption to make sure they are healthy and to go over vaccine due dates with you.
When do I spay/neuter my pet?
We typically recommend doing it around 9 months of age. Please make an appointment at around 8 months of age to do pre-op bloodwork.
How much does spaying/neutering cost?
Approximations for spay/neuter are below. They are subject to change and the pet does need an appointment as well as pre-op bloodwork prior to surgery. Please ask for an itemized estimate before booking for a more specific range. THIS IS JUST AN ESTIMATE
|Canine Spay up to 25 lbs.||$800-900|
|Canine Spay 25.1-50 lbs.||$900-1000|
|Canine Neuter up to 25 lbs.||$800-900|
|Canine Neuter 25.1-50 lbs.||$800-900|
If you are an existing client, yes. We currently do not allow new clients to have a double-pet appointment.
How can I pay for my visit?
We accept all major credit cards including American Express, as well as ApplePay, tap-to-pay cards, chip cards, and Care Credit cards. Unfortunately, we do not accept checks.
Do you accept Pet Insurance?
If you have pet insurance, you will have to pay up front and then submit a claim to get reimbursed from your insurance company.
What pet insurance companies do you recommend?
Most pet owners we see use Trupanion, Healthy Paws, or Nationwide pet insurance.
I'm planning on traveling internationally. How do I make an appointment?
Please head to the "International Travel" Section in the menu bar and follow those instructions.
I want to make an appointment for a holistic visit. How do I do that?
Please see our Holistic & Alternative Care page to explore the different holistic options that we offer here. If you would like to see Dr. Eisner for a holistic consultation, we do require that you email us a ONE paragraph description of your pet's medical history and why you are seeking holistic care, as well as all of the pet's medical records attached. Please send this email to [email protected] with the subject line "Holistic Consultation". Someone should reach out 48-72 hours after that to schedule your appointment.
